AFFINITYA Poem by Rene Velez
I am part of places
I've never been, feet on the Serengeti, eyes upon the Andes, cultures in percentages, clarity in ambiguities, hand full of affinities, just to see within the family, names combined, moments in time, and on the chest the family crest... dancing shadows, from afro to arrows, connecting to my kin, my feather in the wind, I, tapas and the torah, castanets and fedoras... I can finally feel the comfort of my own skin. © 2019 Rene Velez |
