GROUNDED STARS

We are the grounded stars
that give flight, to make
a living, to feed our children,
we are not hostages,
we are the ones who protect
and serve, when politicians
fight over words,

We are the front line,
a wall of flesh and bone,
we are the blood
of this great nation,
an amalgamation of
colors, patriots as a whole,

honor reflected in our jobs,
is just, but one, of many goals,
politicians must play their a role,
and find a bridge on the
divide road.
