LOVING DEGREES

If I could erase, wipe the tears
from your eyes, I, of pure ignorance
at the time, of what you felt inside,
I see today, that I was not wise,

and yet you found a way to forgive me
in a loving degree, setting yourself free,

oh, how I admire you, the things you do,
the things I've learned from you,
for years you held the key,

I marvel at the way you shine,
how you define, in your design,
enshrined is a loved subdued,

you, a secure wave in your sea of love,
your land, bountiful and lush, in
beautiful hues, in the mist of tainted trust,

your love, alive and robust.
