LOOSE AT THE SEAMS

LOOSE AT THE SEAMS

A Poem by Rene Velez

She's at my slipper again,
and she won't give in until
something is loose at the seams
I mean I could take it away
but I like to see her play
even if she is a little s**t
Sometimes,

She'll pull and pull
till she gets it off my foot,
hooked, better yet obsessed
with it, so I kind of let her try,
that kind of determination you
just can't buy,

Eventually she'll get bored
and leave it alone,
go to her chewy with a growl
or a moan,

I find her humor and I crack
a smile, and come to realize
I haven't done that in a while.

I am almost sure you are speaking of your dog? It speaks to me on a heated sort of way, almost as if you are angry with it, but end up finding happiness in your apparent anger. This is beautifully written and it earns a 100 from me :)

P.s my dog likes to steal my slippers as well

Thank you for the kind words. Yes my dog. I love her even in all her mischief. She's a keeper.
