THREE SIMPLE WORDS

THREE SIMPLE WORDS

A Poem by Rene Velez

Where is forgiveness?
under the moonlight;
to be absolved,
the smallest forgiveness
from one's we've wronged,

The worst we wear,
the burdens we bear,
no matter how trivial
when the soul's involved,
peace in its perennial,

and with regret we take
each step, one heavier
than the next,
if we can not pause,
we all have flaws,
we all have flaws,

and for inner peace
we try to reach a
common ground,
three simple words,
pivotal and profound.
