SNATCHED IN MID AIR

SNATCHED IN MID AIR

A Poem by Rene Velez

I didn't change color
or blend into
the background
like some chameleon.

I didn't go into a void
of repetition, bundled
together like some two
for one sale.

I don't come cheap.

And the years of
dedication faltering
from one word,
is simplistic irony.

Before my eyes, I
am watching flowers
wither away, under
a summer sun.

My light snatched
in mid air.
