ETERNAL PAUSE

ETERNAL PAUSE

A Poem by Rene Velez

I don't want to wait.
I don't want to go.
I just want to know
what it would be like
to be in a state
of eternal pause.

No walls. No hate.
No destiny. No fate,
only pause.

From station and place,
from time and space,
if only to trace the lights
of glowing stars.
No limits to how far
our arms could reach,

No race. No first place,
only the taste of strange
spice and the flavors of life,

from season to season,
without reason, with no
grievances, surrendering
to what you deem,
human and decent.
