A NEW VIEW

I shut off a part of me
for a different endeavor.
A new view.
A higher altitude.

A play at chance
of idle circumstance.
To appear
in the face of fear,
bold and cavalier.

A mark left forever
where creation can
be measured with,
dreams to commandeer,
tomorrows to revere.

And if, in words they
find a truth in me.
I am the absentee,
still alive,
still free.
