THE ETERNITIES

THE ETERNITIES

A Poem by Rene Velez

I embrace being
oblivious at times,
in the moment,
maybe enjoying
the sound of the
rain coming down,
or of a setting sun
when the night
has won and the day
has relinquished
it's reign,

and the stars stake
their claim, a part
of the moment,
a part of the silence,
and my being,
renamed,

and if the rain
should freeze
in mid fall, upon
a canvas of
flaming reds,
seconds would
ring the eternities
and my soul forever
fed.
