ORCHESTRA

ORCHESTRA

A Poem by Rene Velez

Let me fill the space between
clapping hands, where the thunder
falls silent, and the dust settles
after raging winds,

Let me slip between the notes
and fall with every pitch, strings
in their intense bravery,

Fill me with the heart and spirit,
melodies that soften the callous,
celestial horns ushering the new dawn,

Fill me with the power of sounding drums,
ancestral calls, and comforts of home,
touching upon the voids to make us whole.
