TRUE AND SINCERE

Until the day I am no more
and fade away, I hope, to not
use my words in vain, I write
and pray they find their way,
to a listening ear,
true and sincere,

I am but a mere second
in the face of eternity,
embracing my identity,

I have but a soul to gain,
let me go beneath the stars
without shame,

connect me to the whole,
bring me to the edge
so that I may know,
that out of the blackness,
something can grow.
