HALFWAY AROUND THE WORLDA Poem by Rene Velez
It was a white ribbon,
tied to a long stemmed, red rose. Something of significance, every year, delivered in remembrance of a summer love. A connection. Pulses beating halfway around the world. Flames in a continous burn. Two, living separate lives, and life obstructing the view of a love that could have been. Ambition before happiness, and to the world, there is no end, like the love represented by a single, red rose. © 2017 Rene Velez |
