POETRY IS NO QUOTE

And to some
I may offend, but
what kind of friend
would I be, if I didn't
speak the truth, dig in
your roots, what
you write is proof,

If you are a poet
then take note, poetry
is not a quote, a mere
two or three lines
poetry is more complex
and divine,

let yourself expand
and take a stand
when you feel...
express your ideals,
because what you feel
is real, the thoughts
you may reveal,

quotes are too
obscure and bizarre,
we cannot see who you are,
let the words flow, so we know,
only then can you grow.
