MARCHING FORWARD BUT LITTLE GAINED

MARCHING FORWARD BUT LITTLE GAINED

A Poem by Rene Velez

It seems beyond range,
marching forward
but little gained.
Police poorly trained,
another name on a grave,
another action, less than brave.

Blood stains
wiped away by the reign.
Brown with a brain,
gone, against the grain.

Close the eyes
and hope for change.
Point the finger
and set the blame.

Justice impossible
to attain, yet, another
life is lost in vain.
