FEATHERS TO RUFFLEA Poem by Rene Velez
I believe a man should be free,
free to choose where he wants to live, where he wants to be. No walls standing in the way, dictatating where he stays. If I want to live in Spain then I should have that right. If I want to breed in France or work in Brussels, it is my circumstance. My feathers to ruffle. No one should have the power to draw a line in the sand. Stick out his chest and hold out his hand and demand an explanation. Or claim to win because of the color of his skin. We are free to do as we please. Born on this Earth with the power to breathe, that is all that is needed for us to exist. A man is no child to be taken by a wrist when life is a gift to be told what he must do, If in his heart it does not feel true. Men should not have such power, Men like that would trample every flower, plunging the world into the darkest views. © 2016 Rene VelezReviews
