REFLECTION

I came to my reflection in the water
and barely recognized the stronger
presence on the other side.

I wondered if I really knew him
or if our sameness was just a lie.
What was your world like on the other side?
do you suffer the same as me?

Tied to obligations or are you really free
to do as you please? Over here
no one is free only the illusion
and it comes with a fee.

Is that you, looking so cold,
are you the mirror to my soul?
and if that may be,
share your secrets to saving me.

Well written, clever! I think at one point or another most of us has thought " Is there a mirror world of our own? What would be like? Would it better, would it be worse? Would each person's " Other side " exist in their own realities or would we all share a type of ( for a lack of better terms.) perfect world or polar opposite world"? I had written a short story awhile back about this, it really touched me that someone a pieced together something so thought provoking with such ease and appeal. Each sentence had me wanting to read the next, your writing has such flow. I absolutely loved it! This is my first read of your work, I am definitely subscribing. I can't to read more. Thank you for sharing.
