TRAGEDIES OF ZEAL

TRAGEDIES OF ZEAL

A Poem by Rene Velez

I wish I could say
they felt no pain
before the impact
by some divine mercy,
they were worthy of,

I am numb by the
tragedies of zeal.
Zealot behind the wheel.

Reckless in the pace
of celebration, in the
face of a nation.

When will it be enough?
seeking Gods touch
or to judge with a
foot on the clutch.
