OFFERINGS OF LIGHT

There is a change
run towards the rising sun,
cake in the earth
spirit and woman, one

hand upon a wailing wall,
sun above the prayer's call,
with eyes shut, knelt in silent hymn,
sway like the wind and call to him,

offerings of light, the dervish spins,
a need to nourish beneath the skin,
prayer wheels within until the next life begins
we are all one riding on the universal winds.

I thought this was a good portrayal of the spiritual with some good images. The wailing wall and the dervish. Your line about cake in the earth has lost me though..

When a American Indian girl becomes a woman she is to meet with the spirit woman and run at night towards the rising sun, and a corn cake is baked in the ground and consumed by her people after her ceremony.
