UNIVERSAL DESIGN

UNIVERSAL DESIGN

A Poem by Rene Velez

snow falls on my face,
and I think, how even in Spring
nature sometimes fails the calendar days,
could flaws be our universal design?
It wouldn't be hard to convince me

let me be the kink in the thread
of life, with wide eyes fumbling
in the dark, disrupting its flow

puncture a hole in the velvet sky
deflating the daily reality
away from repetition of the same

hold my hand and travel with me
beyond the questions we ask
into answers we only dream of.
