YOUR ETCH

YOUR ETCH

A Poem by Rene Velez

I peer through your lines, up close,
an imprint upon an ageless window,
the corners accumulating snow

your silent mark blurring the view
to a crowded street, like ringing
church bells you resonate by heart,
warmth to a cold moonlight,

focused on your etch
as a curtain slowly closes,
I watch as you open and stretch
into opportunities that
would ultimately set you free.
