YOU FOUND ME LIFELESS

YOU FOUND ME LIFELESS

A Poem by Rene Velez

Leave me here
relentless as the day
not as you found me,
lifeless, loss of feeling,
press my button
between the shoulders and
move me beyond the clamor
of grey windows
and colorless streets,
barefoot I would
walk beside your road,
an insect on the wind
of your voice, eternal,
wipe the debris from
my eyes and flaunt
your aura of peacock colors,
that wondered tunnel vision
that is you, for you have
rustled the very fabric
that is me.

I really liked the combination of imagination with the clashing reality. Great imagery!
