STRANGER STILL...

STRANGER STILL...

A Poem by Rene Velez

Time was much simpler then,
deep into our youth, everything new,
we set in stone memories
for a life time, some sad and some
good, good enough for us to remember,

but to reminisce is something
we will do through different lives,
strangers still, days removed,
words and actions like wedges
sealing doors to secrets thought
unknown

tapping canes will replace
dancing feet in due time, and
windows will blur with dust
the heart constant will beat
a truth reserved in personal turns.
