SIDE EFFECTSA Poem by Rene VelezI don't remember much, head in a fog, a gnawed tongue left blood splatters on the bedroom wall, I was half naked with strangers in my room, I remember asking who they were and they said they were there for me, confused... I looked to the woman I love for answers and she had the saddest eyes, words made no impact, only physical motions seemed to make sense, I stepped inside an ambulance, whisked away from the comfort I held dear, to a place that would find the answers to the questions I would ask. © 2015 Rene Velez |
