PREDATOR AND PREY

On dry arid land,
high above it
springs by dying light
in flight for life
a prodigy in nature's
exam

beyond grasp
like a sling shot
across grass
predator and vision
of grey chasing prey

tendon and muscle
in faints, kicking up dust,
a master of the juke

surviving its environment
finding its way to get away
among the sirens
and police bullets.
