FOUR WALL APPLAUSE

FOUR WALL APPLAUSE

A Poem by Rene Velez

I have used so many,
there are barely any
left on the shelf,
like a children's tale,
tired and old, the many
times expressed, the
amount of times told,

but desire will use
what little it needs
to satisfy, to amplify
the soul, when passion
grabs a hold,

push the red ball
kick it if you must,
I would wipe away
the dust or catch one
if it falls, to bow and
heed the applause
within my four walls.
