NOTHINGNESS

NOTHINGNESS

A Poem by Rene Velez

I paint the world black
my paint brush
begs only one color
only nothingness
from the womb

to impulse,
I gaze upon oblivion
bleeding synapses
of momentary light,
a moth to the stars,

In ripples they come
colors from the ebony,
life from the well,

working towards
the shadows of
the gate keeper
of creation.
