ROAD LESS TRAVELEDA Poem by Rene VelezIts as good a day as any for what's going down, it even brought the elderly out of their apartments, chats of a tragedy bringing out the revolutionary of their younger days, Picket signs floating around them like rebellious ghosts, they have brought grievances to the forefront, of scars left to fester atop wounded streets, sun burnt and barefoot across time, Autumn blows and hands keep Ridged in air, a human chain stretching, cries like Marley's plea, loud and still unheard, the new and restless grip batons over barriers, blue walls, hipsters against barricades in defiance of an all seeing eye, each hand illuminating a light even the creator can see one, the world refuses to acknowledge, step in pace among the crowd, along the road less traveled. © 2014 Rene Velez |
