GUARDIANS

GUARDIANS

A Poem by Rene Velez

Maybe we are a bit eccentric,
guardians of the letter garden
like rays of light seen through
the cracks of the darkest places,

silent warrior's?

still fingers twitch and thoughts
move fast enough to disappear
like a flash in the minds eye

to touch a truth no matter
where it resides, where the
inner voice is as loud as a mime
uttering that forbidden word

An impulse up before the dawn
to capture what is beautiful
and real.
