BOHEMIANS

BOHEMIANS

A Poem by Rene Velez

Vagabonds were meant
to grace Vanity Fair
wandering from front
to end, tambourine
and gypsies in tow,

we of gritty teeth
and poverty, we are
true to our artistic
integrity carried
at the hip,

frugal shirts and
unconventional ties
fair wear for the
young and radical
of adorable faults

dip the pen in light
ripples in charity
allow us to see
the self in musical form.

Love the reference to Vanity Fair, a favourite of mine actually. As for the Bohemian lifestyle, absolutely how I'd like it to be.

I'm a veteran so I get disqualified from being a bohemian.
