Tell the WorldA Poem by Alec
I laid my head to fall asleep,
I prayed the Lord my soul to keep. But had I known I would not wake, I'd prayed the Lord my place to make My eyes beheld instead the brim. A feel of dread and fear so grim. The light of fire singed my eyes. The Dark One found another prize. My body held it's strength no more, it couldn't lift from off the floor. But lifted by a creature foul, carried was I to deeper bowel It chained my limbs to burning stone. My ears tortured by hellish moan. It whipped, it tore, it cleaved my flesh. my veins draped out, a bloodless mesh. My bones i saw, my organs bare. The demon maimed without a care. I tried to cry, I had no screams: My throat'd been gashed by one it's reams. The horrid dry and toxic must, where blood would flow, 'twas only dust. Eons passed in this Godless space, passed only minutes in other place. My flesh had healed to shred again, my bones would mend to break in pain. I knew no hope, not even grace. My mind was wiped of other place. The demon's scales shined hateful rue, the only other skin I knew. Then a light shined on me so sweet, It took the pain from mangled meat. My bones mended and did not break, the breaking walls began to shake. Something grabbed me, I did not fear. No more did brim or smoke appear. Blissful I stood upon my feet, My hands were free, I felt no heat. "Go tell the world what you've seen there, save my people from this despair." I woke in my own bed screaming, knowing I was never dreaming. I flew to the water which I craved, feeling my thirst could ne'er be staved.
