I Am A River

I Am A River

A Poem by Bat-Becca
"

A poem for the rivers.

"
I reflect the tree soldiers
That stand to guard my sides.
I move gently a bit
Back and forth with grace
Rhythmical and repetitive.
Smoky greys define my shadows
Greasy white highlights sit atop
Murky blue-green waves.
Leaves have fallen
Not quite to my depths
Hovering beneath the surface.
I mirror the sky,
Or perhaps it mirrors me;
It's hard to say
Which of us came first.
I am a River.

Author's Note

Bat-Becca
I spell "greys" instead of "grays." They're both correct though, aren't they?
