Meant To Be SomethingA Poem by RemiasWayneAnother empowering poem meant to illustrate second chances and self realization.
Was I meant to be nothing? Or was nothing meant to be?
My heart filled with sorrow, I kicked and I screamed while drowning at sea. With my head above water, the terrible waves yet again pulverized me. Plunged beneath the ocean, I sank further never to come back, my whole life before me then all faded to black. I opened my eyes, I now laid in the warm sun on a sandy golden beach. In confusion I rose to my feet, I questioned myself, how can this be? Did I not just thrash for dear life before drowning at sea? A voice entered my ears and I turned around. I didn't recognize his face, I stayed quiet a moment not making a sound. I walked over to thank him but as I drew near, there was a bright flash of light and he disappeared. So grateful I am because now I believe. I'm meant to be something. I'm as blessed as can be. © 2017 RemiasWayne |
