On Being Transparent

On Being Transparent

A Poem by RememberAlicia

I turned into a shadow for a day.

All smoke and wisps of fog

The smell of burning mixed with grey.

tar and bits of you

Shadow-now and shadow-then and shadow will I be

Just sitting by the water

While the current flows through me

Wonderfully done. So much expressed in so few words. Loved it!

Beautiful and haunting. To be a shadow for a day- i like how this poem reads- can feel the silence, the cold smokey fog

I remember an Alicia, she was a happy member of the gang of Brown-Eyed Girls, she was a poet and a musician and artist, she died too soon.

Now you know why I clicked on the new writer named RememberAlicia, I really enjoyed your work. Looking forward to reading you again.

Really like the ''bits of you'' part. I sometimes feel like I'm a combination of myself and someone else. The smell of burning gives it a nice bit of darkness.
