Several Legends TallA Poem by Rem SevvenIn loving memory of Paul Dion. My Grandfather, whom past on March 24,2019.Six feet four inches- And several legends tall. Bold and wholehearted, The man we knew as Paul. He did not always show his failings- Out of stubborn pride. So he burdened all his sorrows, And the faults he chose to hide. With all his gains and hardships- His many ventures made. He Faced life undaunted, And he was not afraid. A man of great stature, Boisterous and loud, Both his voice and his grand visage, Could not be lost to the crowd. He was a pillar of a man, Formidable but just. Stern but not unyielding, He awarded us his trust. A real but down to earth legend of a man. An unflinching voice and a firm hand, Taught us lifes lessons, In a way we could understand Vast were his descendants- A prosperous family tree. Four or more generations- Have sat upon his knee. Great, but not perfect. Simple, but not small. He held our admiration and respect- The man we knew as Paul.
