I know what it is like...

I know what it is like to feel alone in a relationship.

I know what it is like to have someone in your physical space and feel completely disconnected.

I know what it is like to see someone in your presence and witness them make no effort to engage with you.

I know what it is like to fall in love with an idea and later realize the reality of an illusion.

I know what it is like to be admired and not loved.

I know what it is like to be placed on a pedestal and be kept there; never seeing each other eye to eye.

I know what is is like to hear people say they want certain qualities and dreams fulfilled with their dream mate while watching them treat their mate as a means to get and not give.

I know what is like to lie naked with your flesh and covering up the nudity of your soul.
