"God's Stew"

"God's Stew"

A Poem by The Mindful Witch
"

A strange story of being judged by God & the angels through the lens of beef stew.

"

“Of broth and beef and carrots too.

Throw in celery and onion for their chew.

Potatoes and cornstarch tossed in for good measure.

Life is a cook off expressing its treasure.

The judge debates what’s on his plate, while your lips purse as he reveals your fate.

You are the winner in this sinners dinner now kneel before us if you may.

We grant you pardon, we thought you knew.

The judge is an angel who splits in two.

One leads to heaven, the other to hell.

Before this recipe they couldn’t quite tell.

A proclamation, a bow, and an I love you.

They turn to you singing “You are God’s award winning stew.”
