The Echo

The Echo

A Poem by Reika
"

We are all connected

"

Fear me,

the easily supernatural,

the night time favourite,

the musically haunting,

the one who wants to be alive.

Follow those alleged beliefs,

all those meaningless aspirations,

walk the electromagnetic, static-electric feelings

down the path of so-called righteousness and fufillment

all the way home

to find the one who wishes to be free.

Look out the window and let the light infect you.

Turn around to stare at your reflection in the mirror.

What do you see but that seven stalled in forever,

the fish out of water,

where together you have risen

and the oxygen has got you high.

You let out a sigh

and you start to feel alive.

Rising higher and higher,

hallucinogens become your reality

as the world around you spins.

You touch the walls,

the colours that have blended into one,

and at that moment you feel a rush through your body,

you are pushed back and blinded

swimming in the spectrum of colours,

feeling your way through thoughts and visions

that have not yet come to pass.

Do you feel a little dizzy?

Do you want to be haunted, love?

Be alive,

Be free,

Never be forever,

But let yourself be.

Author's Note

Reika
This was inspired by song. No lyrics. Can't write when I hear lyrics. It distracts me. But it was the instrumental version of "Soma" by Smashing Pumpkins.

My heart sings a gentle song and whispers softly in your ear and your ear alone I'm not the best writer in the world. Hell, I'm not even close to decent. But I love writing, none the less. W.. more..
