Final Goodbyes

I write this as a way of comfort and what I will be reading to Calie soon...

Time is slowly running out

As every minute

Every moment is precious

15yrs you’ve been with me

Through all my ups and downs..

 

You’ve been my best friend

You’ve been my sister

And also my daughter

All wrapped up in one…

 

You were not like others

You did not act like a stereotype

You were different

You had great personality

 

My first cat for a 7^th grader

You got me through harsh school years

Along with going through scoliosis

You are my bundle of joy.

My warm body

My little purr machine

 

I know I will never find another like you

You are one of a kind

A cat who acted like a dog

Drinking out of a dog water bowl

Wanting tummy rubs

Just by laying down in front and demanding it

                               

You were a cat

That got others to like you

By the way you came to greet them

Or how you try to get into bags all the time

 

Even though you are sick

And I have to let you go

You still shine bright as ever

Never truly showing you are sick

 

There won’t be another

Who can take your place

And fill me with the needs

That you gave me

 

I hope I have given you

Every last happy moment

Every last experience

Every last taste

Every last sight

And every last smell

 

I want your last moment of breath

To be one of beauty

To be one at peace

For you loved me just right

And I want you to go in love

 

Just like you enjoyed the sunroom

Just like you enjoyed escaping

And enjoying the outdoors on your terms

Just like you enjoy baking in the sun

 

Even though I will be sad of your passing

I will be happy knowing

That I tried everything possible for you

And that I gave your last moments a good one

 

You will be physically gone from me

No more warm body

No more beautiful fur

No more wonderful purrs

 

Yet I’ll treasure every photo

Every video

That I have captured of you

So I can see for myself

That I did right by you

Overall in the end

 

I will miss you gravely

But know how much I love you

And how much others loved you

You brought happiness into my darkest moments

You brought joy to others

 

So please be at peace

And no longer suffering my love
