My take on intelligence- what it is.

My take on intelligence- what it is.

A Story by Mandy

What is it to be smart? Is it the posession of knowledge? That doesen't seem logical, for any average person can obtain and recite as much knoledge as they wish. Does that automatically make them a highly intelligent person? I wouldn't think so. Intelligence is ones ability to learn, and their ability to comprehend the knowledge they take in. Intelligence is ones mind power. Yes, it has been said and proven true that knowledge is power, but power is not intelligence, therefore knowledge is not intelligence. A meer average person can put mediocricy to use and apply much effort, where as a genius can have the ability to know all, but choose to know nothing. Intelligence comes in many forms, there are several ways in which one can be smart. For some, it comes in the form of creativity. For others, logic and order. For many, there is a vast combination of areas in which they are intelligent. Many others tend to have one area of strength that stands above all other areas. There are, unfortunatly, many very close-minded perceptions of what intelligence actually is, and who is fortunate enough to be labeled as intelligent, while many very potentialful others go unapriciated, and underestimated. In order for society to work, there is a need for various people of several different smarts. This is where we get various carrer fillments, view points, and ideas, which when all put together, form the society we thrive in. No person deserves to be underestimated or thought of as purely ignorant, for each and every person has at least one area in which they are naturally smart, and the ability to contribute to society. -Mandy Hensel.

I liked your take on Intelligence.
Here is what I shall say:
Any one can be a lego man walking in a lego world.
An average lego man can take other lego blocks and build things.
A Smart lego man can build things that will better the lego world overall.
The Intelligent lego man can build things that will help using the fewest pieces.
The Genious Lego man can do this without touching the blocks himself.
The Lego man who is a Saint will see all this and say the lego world and it's creations are not necessary to walk at all. Thus the Lego saint is Wise.
I'll take wisdom over Intelligence anyday.

Nice piece! One that makes someone think. The Best kind!
