Existance.A Story by MandyMy views. I got bored.
I have come to the conclusion that we humans are completely uncertin about reality and existance. We know absolutly nothing, other than what we sense and perceive. Our perceptions of life are far too limited to know anything for sure, even if proven. We're restricted, yet hold enough resources to question, experiment, toss around ideas, and come up with theories, although we cannot prove anything any further than within our bound existance and perceptions. All of existance and reality are within our own minds, therefore we have no way to even detirmine whether we are the only one with thought process. Life as we know it, for each of us, only exists within our minds and our selves. If the mind and self were absent, would reality even exist? If nobody were around to perceive it, would anything be there? We can only know and perceive as much as our limited minds and senses allow, which could only be a fragment of what all is out there, things we couldn't even fathom. Where on the flipside, all of reality and existance could only exist in less than a milisecond, which apears so much longer due to circumstances we aren't even close to capable of understanding. Mankind could have already been wiped out millions of years ago, and the reality we apear to be existing in currently could be a meer flashback. We have no way to be certin that we even exist within time, or within the moment. (this stupid thing won't allow a space . this stupid thing won't allow a space . this stupid thing won't allow a space . this stupid thing won't allow a space . this stupid thing won't allow a space . this stupid thing won't allow a space . this stupid thing won't allow a space . this stupid thing won't allow a space ) I belive we have purpose. I belive there is eternal existance beyond death, be it heaven, rencarnation, or something else entirely. Although I, just as anyone else, have no way to know for sure, it brings about a sense of security to hold beleifs. I belive there is a meaning to life, one that was either never acknowldged, or went out the window long ago, because the way the average person is living seems to serve no purpose. We seem to live for self-fullfillment and recreation. For all we know, though, that could be the meaning of life. Although that wouldn't make much sense, but then again, what does make sense? Humans are emotional beings, where as many animals live purely based on instinct. Our original purpose was to survive until natural death. To eat, sleep, and primarily, exist. Emotions, desires, feelings, social interactions, and multiple other various factors have transformed our original purpose. We now do not only live to survive, we live to fullfill our desires and seek a sense of purpose, accomplishment, belonging, and acceptance. We live for pleasure, enjoyment, love, and happiness. With all the complexity that comes along with inteligence and life, we're naturally lead to belive that there must be a deeper purpose to existance. And that leads us to belive there must be something greater beyond ourselves and beyond death. Which then leads us to search for answers and form ideas and beliefs. Not only for comfort, but to make sense of everything. © 2008 MandyAuthor's Note
