Clean

Clean

A Poem by Roberta Weth
"

I hate the city

"

Dull, droning city music   Drifts into the car

                               Traffic and construction
                               Blur in a tuneless melody
           As I sit impatiently
And wait to get somewhere
   I don’t want to be

I watch as a man walks by
His blue sweatshirt glares in contrast

To the gray and brown monotony
Of concrete and filth
