Distraction

Distraction

A Poem by Roberta Weth
"

....

"

Old, green metal
Scratched and dented

Dusty, with footprints on the roof
Cracked plastic lights
                       Buzz with conversation
Stale air blows
   Hot, from the windows
The bus bounces
Jarring my body
Sending my pen
              Across the paper
I slouch over my notebook
                          Frantically I scribble
Fouling the page
         With any image
            Any phrase
 Anything and everything
Except what I'm actually thinking.
