FRIENDS

FRIENDS

A Poem by Regi Taylor

Strangers meet, merge their lives
Shadows fade...
Time revives the highs of life

Dreams renew, nightmares die
Two hearts may find that life provides...
A refuge from their strife

Old wounds heal, when life reveals
What kindred spirits share

Tears dry up, smiles from frowns
Happiness from despair

We find that all life's maladies
Were there to make us grow

Pains and strains of former times
Were there to let us know

A friend would come...to make us see
That pain was not in vain

Loneliness of bygone days...gone
Because we're friends
