On the inside

On the inside

A Poem by Heather Phelps

We look the same on the outside
We will never feel the same though

On the inside I am torn apart
On the inside I still love you
On the inside I have been crushed

On the outside nothing shows
except the tears on my pillow

On the inside I hope
hope you feel the same for me
On the inside I hope you are whole
On the inside I want you spread far and wide.

On the outside nothing shows
except the anger on your face

I will never feel quite right again
But as long as your happy I can
Try to begin again

Starting anew is just the thing
that we both need
so this may be the end
but it can also be a begining
