No More

No More

A Poem by Heather Phelps

We Joke, We Tease,
We love, We leave,
We kiss, We talk
We make love,
We make up.

We do all these things and more,
So we won't show each other the door.

Our lives, they're just beginning,
While we think they're ending.

We no longer court,
No more first dates,
No more one night stands,
No more awkward silences,
No more thinking of the past,
No more waiting for the right time

Our time is now,
We need to embrace it,
We need to plan our lives,
Around one another,
So we can be together,
So we can stay together.
So we can have love,
And show love.
