Significant

Significant

A Poem by Heather Phelps

Loving you feels so right
yet fighting is what we are.
I can't imagine,
how anyone,
anyone at all,
could go back,
back to life without you.
You make everything I have known,
known and loved,
seem insignificant.
Everything is all right,
when you flash those pearly whites,
in that amazing smile,
that smile that is so,
so impossibly you.
Yet those smiles,
seem to get farther apart,
every day.
It's frustrating,
to know there's something,
something not right,
something that's bugging you.
And nothing I do seems to help,
I wish I could,
could do more,
but there is a wall,
a wall stopping me,
from getting close,
and comforting,
the only man I will ever love.
