Terrible Contagion

Terrible Contagion

A Poem by Reform69
"

Wrote after a comedy show

"

I can’t breathe

My eyes widen

And I grip my stomach

Pain erupts from my chest

As my lungs claw for air

The muscles across my body ache

Tears stream from my eyes

As my face contorts into a wild expression

My cries emanate throughout the room

And are joined by others around me

Peering through my watery eyes

I notice others around me

Are having the same fits

We are dying

As our laughter is uncontrollable

The comedian on stage calls for quiet

And we lean back in our seats

With smiles on our faces

We enjoy the rest of the show
