Summer's Last Rose

Summer's Last Rose

A Poem by WindSong

Summer's Last Rose

A summer breeze on an autumn wind

The essence of thee ebbs with the tide

Winds brush lightly upon my soul

My heart weeps!

The sea winds still blow

A flame burns on the edge of time

By a memoir left for thee

Love!

An elusive butterfly

Etched by mystique and intrigue

Our paths crossed by destiny

A summer breeze on an autumn wind

With summer's last rose by the sea

This was such a beautiful, well written ode..
your imagery throughout was captivating and ethereal...
I could feel the summer breeze, autumn wind, and flame burning
I could hear the ebbing tide and winds brushing..
I could smell the summer's last rose
but most of all I could imagine the elusive butterfly etched by mystique and intrigue...exuding passion and love.
Terrific write, Windsong
