So Long Ago

So Long Ago

A Poem by WindSong

So Long Ago

A glimmering diamond

A kiss

A cut of passion

Bestowed upon my soul

Your lips pressed gently

Upon my cheek

Warm and tender

So long ago

A loving embrace

Forever lingers deep in me

The sun dips, slips slowly away

Dripping across a shade of gold

A lovely season in the midst

Glistening in the sunlit haze

With a slight and sultry

Summer wind

My heart is melting

Breathing in the scent of you

In the afterglow within

This poem took my breath away! Lovely, but more--waiting for the next word to get there before I am done with the word in front of it. Beautifully done!

This is stunning. The scene that you set it breathtaking and the prose are right where they should be, not overly sappy but wonderfully romantic. Perfect!

Such vivid and beautiful imagery. Love the hint of passion in this poem and all the lovely views of nature all brought together.

Soft, clear, and sweet... a gentle aftertaste... a sense of half-closed eyes and spooning dreams.
