A Long-Stemmed Rose

A Long-Stemmed Rose

A Poem by WindSong

At the edge of a water lily pond

Butterflies gather then flitter away.

A reflection of blossoming gardens

Sparkle with the sweetest flowers in May.

A breath of spring blows warmly by,

And red roses flourish with ones of gold.

Songbirds sing without delay,

As the beauty of moonlit nights unfold.

A young woman picks a delicate flower

That time will keep in quiet repose.

While in a field with wisps of lavender,

Her teardrops fall on a long-stemmed rose.

A starlit eve inspires a bouquet with Beaujolais

For lovers who love beneath a weeping tree.

And those who love in youthful fancy,

The winds caress them in a meadow by the sea.
